Twin Tuesday: One In The Same

an interesting read on a set of identical twins (or siblings born at the same time).

imo: this really isn’t as weird or strange as it may seem on the surface.  i think there will always be the ‘je ne sais quoi’ factor to the relationship between twins.  some days its really evident that there is another being who is practically the same as yourself, and on other days, its hard to believe that you can be so similar and yet incredibly different.  while these particular twins have consciously embraced the twin factor in all areas of their lives (life), sometimes even when you live more as “regular” siblings, those twinny moments come up more often than not.  many a day i’ve run off to work, only to see that i’ve put on a very similar outfit as my (twin) sister.  or we’ll be texting and somehow text the same message at the same time.

i can understand how the ‘extreme’ relationship between these twins would be seen as “creepy” or unsettling, its almost more like they’re using their physical beings to demonstrate their bond, which is probably understandable by few.

maybe, just as a non-twin has no idea what it’s like to be a twin, these twins haven’t the faintest idea what life would be like without each other.  this is normal to them.  it’s all relative.

while i haven’t (and probably never will) live my twin life to this degree, i feel a slight sense of understanding in the relationship that monette and mady have, the best of friends.
